Welcome to  page eight!

Wednesday September 23rd

Day 3 of my own amusement! In the morning I watched ‘Only Fools & Horses’ in which Corin’s budgie died and Del & Rodney had to buy a new one before she found out! It was very funny.
We had soup and French Stick for lunch. Early afternoon dad and I went to Deli di Luca. I had an iced mocha and dad had a mug of tea and we shared a Rocky Road. We chatted to Andrew for quite a while, then when we came to pay our bill, Andrew said “It’s fine, have that one on the house”. That was very sweet of him, but I guess we do go there quite often. In the afternoon I did some drawing and writing practice and watched more ‘Only Fools & Horses’ until it was time for tea. Mum made moussaka with the rest of Sunday’s roast lamb and it was delicious!
After tea we watched ‘Celebrity Antiques Road Trip’ and then ’The Repair Shop’ which gave mum and I the giggles for some reason...

Thursday September 24th

It’s mum’s birthday today! She is working and will start to celebrate after work with opening of dad and my presents and then a take-away curry evening at Liz and Dudley’s.
Dad and I had a lunch-time coffee at Costa, with a sausage bap for me and a bacon bap for dad. After we had eaten those dad suggested we share another one! Sausage or Bacon? - we chose bacon!
On the way back dad popped into ‘All About U’, our local beauticians and bought a ‘Spa Find Lava Shells Thermal Facial’ treatment for mum for her birthday.
When we got back, dad had to sit down with Patrick and do some planning for the en-suite rebuild, so I watched ‘Black Adder’ which though I’ve seen it before, still made me laugh.
At 6 o’clock mum finished work and opened our presents. She was very pleased and liked our cards. There was a ring on the doorbell and Liz had arrived with a big bunch of flowers! That was very thoughtful of her. We had a great evening with them and a great curry - ‘Happy Birthday’ mum!

Friday September 25th

Mum had the day off work today and we went to Tunbridge Wells for some shopping and lunch out at ‘Bills’. Dad bought a nice pair of skinny jeans and I bought some socks. By the time we got back, Patrick had gone but he had positioned the shower base and prepared the walls for boarding before tiling. It’s starting to take place!
Dad had bought a large cauliflower in Marks Food Hall and we had cauliflower cheese with mustard-cream sauce and baby tomato crust. It was delicious!
After tea we watched “A Question of Sport’, ‘Bake-off - the Last Slice’ then ‘Doc Martin’ and ‘DCI Banks’.

Saturday September 26th

We were up fairly early this morning as Sam and Lucy came over to celebrate mum’s birthday. They had bought mum a nice hamper full of nick-nacks for the en-suite, a bunch of red roses and a lovely framed photo of Sam and mum at the wedding. They had also bought a bottle of Pinot Blush from Marie
We went to Rendezvous for lunch. When we entered the restaurant Maria quickly said “masks on please” so the rules have changed yet again! We had to wear our masks until we were seated, then we could take them off. We had a fab lunch - mum and Sam started with mussels while Lucy, Dad and I had olives and bread. For mains, Lucy, mum and I had salmon while Sam had a burger and dad had boeuf bourguignon. I had apple tart for dessert.
On the way back we went into the Sue Ryder charity shop that has just re-opened, then went back for a warming cup of tea as it’s turned really wintry outside - what a shock after dad and I sitting in the sun outside Rendezvous on Monday and it being very warm!
When Sam and Lucy went home they took Sam’s remaining clothes out of his old bedroom drawers, giving mum some well needed filing space in her new office.
For tea we had beans on cheese on toast and watched ‘Strictly’ and ‘Our Yorkshire Farm’ then Casualty.

Sunday September 27th

In the morning mum and I went to Sainsbury’s for the weekly shop. While we were there I also bought a new green flowered nighty.
When we got back we had the remaining moussaka for lunch. It was a grey old day but not as cold as Saturday! Dad went to see Neil and Sara up the road and I watched ‘A Bug’s Life’ and Pixar’s ‘Coco’ with mum.
We cooked a roast chicken for tea with roast potatoes and veg, and watched ‘Our Yorkshire Farm’ and ‘Antiques Roadshow’ then ‘US’ which is a good drama apart from the swearing!
It’s supposed to be sunny ☀️ tomorrow, so dad and I will go for coffee - yippee!

Monday September 28th

It was quite a sunny day today, so after watching another episode of ‘Black Books’ with Manic Manny and his mum and dad, I did a bit of drawing.
For lunch we had chicken sandwiches and asparagus soup. In the afternoon I went out with dad for a coffee with Christina and Katy Secombe at Costa. We had pots of tea and shared a slice of banana cake which was scrummy! We chatted about lots of things, and Katy and dad might start a radio play in weekly episodes about the Women’s Institute…! For tea we had Chicken Kiev with lots of yummy garlic to keep the vampires away!
After tea we watched ‘Our Yorkshire Dales’, Tom Herridge’s ‘Lose Weight for Good’, the Blue Cross documentary ‘Animal A&E’ and the Freddie Flintoff documentary ‘Living with Bulimia’ which was frank and honest about a difficult condition.

Tuesday September 29th

In the morning dad and I went to Sevenoaks to buy a new desk phone as Twiglet had thrown-up over the old one and it didn’t work anymore! We had 2 places to go to - Robert Dyas hardware for the phone, and Santander bank to get rid of £14 of old £1 coins discovered in a piggy bank! Both missions accomplished, we went to ‘Nonna Cappuccini’ in Black Yard for lunch and coffee. It was my turn to pay, but I’d left my bank card at home! Dad said “oh that old chestnut…” as he had to pay. We had chicken, bacon and avocado paninis which were delicious!
In the afternoon, dad had to work with Patrick, so I watched ‘Red Dwarf’ on Netflix. For tea dad cooked his sweet chicken curry with the leftovers from Sunday’s roast. He had run out of curry powder, so mum and I went to the Co-op to get some more and some fruit, but when we got back mum had bought chilli powder by mistake! Dad had a ferret through the cupboards and found we had another pot of curry powder anyway!
After tea we watched ‘The Yorkshire Vet’ and ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ which were both very enjoyable. After that it was time for my bath and bed.

Wednesday September 30th

In the morning dad and I went out for coffee via Christina’s as she would like dad’s opinion on her detached gutter and whether it’s repairable. Dad said it was and took a close-up photograph for her to send to the guttering firm. After that, the three of us went to Costa for coffee. Dad had a bacon roll and I had a sausage one with ketchup.
We did a bit of grocery shopping on the way back. For tea dad made corned-beef hash which is always a favourite!
We watched ‘Antiques Road Trip’ and ‘The Repair Shop’ then the News.
If the weather is good tomorrow, dad will take me to the activity workshop in Woodlands Park, Gravesend, where I will see Louise and Jamie from the house in Longfield. Here's hoping the weather holds!

Thursday October 1st

Pinch-Punch 1st of the month! It is quite a sunny day. Dad drove me to Gravesend for the workshop in Woodlands Park. His sat-nav wouldn’t wake-up properly so he drove the journey from memory. All went well until we were just outside Gravesend town centre then dad realised we had driven past the park, but he hadn’t seen it! There was nowhere to turn round and then we hit the one-way system! We got hopelessly lost, so dad pulled over and did battle with the sat-nav… He eventually got it going and it showed us where we were and how to get back to Woodlands Park. We arrived 45 minutes late, but Angie, Amanda and the guys had waited for us, bless them! Dad went off for a walk and some breakfast and said he’d be back when the workshop finished at 1 o’clock. He asked me to collect some nice leaves for autumn pictures we could do together. By half-past twelve I was getting anxious wondering where dad was, and I started to 😢 cry. Angie reassured me that dad would be there soon, and he arrived at 1 o’clock. As we said our goodbyes and left, Angie asked if I had enjoyed myself. I tearfully said I had and would like to come again next time. Dad will join us a little earlier next time and sit and read his book!
When we got back, dad and I went for coffee at Deli-di-Luca and we shared a Rocky Road. On the way back we dropped in to the butchers and bought mince and bacon for cottage pie for tea.
After we had eaten, we watched ‘The Apprentice, best bits’ and ‘behind closed doors’ before a well-earned bath and bed - night-night…

so where does it say Woodlands Park? - no wonder we missed it...!

Friday October 2nd

In the morning we attempted to ‘Alcove’ the Longfield house, but the iPad had locked us out and would not restore. We alcoved on mum’s phone instead which gave a very small picture but at least we could see the guys. We had a catch-up with all the news and saw the colour of Shirley’s new nail varnish! Velma and Jean were on today and Mel has gone off sick because she fell over and broke her ankle.
Mum was quite excited today as she has discovered Poppy and Daisy have started laying! Their eggs are quite small and dark brown, but that’s at least two eggs every day from now on. For lunch we had scrambled eggs to celebrate!
After lunch dad showed me how to do leaf stencil painting using the leaves I collected yesterday in Woodlands Park. We made some jolly and colourful Autumn montages.
Patrick has done a lot of plumbing work in the en-suite, so the walls can go up soon. He has also worked for our neighbours Dudley and Liz recently and Liz popped over to discuss more work with him. He could be working in our road for the next few years...!
For tea dad cooked liver and bacon with Savoy cabbage, peas and potatoes. After tea we watched ‘A Question of Sport’ with Sue Barker then ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ which was very funny.

Saturday October 3rd

It’s a horrible wet day and feels like Autumn has arrived. Just before lunch we Skype’d Sam and Lucy. We delayed it because they were having their boiler fixed. They both looked well, despite work being tough. We talked about Lucy’s birthday and agreed we would take them out to celebrate on Saturday 17th, and Sam will let us know what she wants for her birthday. For lunch we had Daisy and Poppy’s first  eggs on toast with baked beans, and they were very tasty!
After lunch mum and I went to the supermarket for the weekly shop, while dad did battle with the old iPad trying to restore it!
Mum and I bought salmon for us and steak for dad. After tea we watched ‘Strictly Musical Highlights’ then ‘Casualty’, then Idris Elba in ‘Hartlepool’ which was a bit dark, like most of his films.

Sunday October 4th

Another day of rain! I watched ‘Mr Bean’ in the morning which though I’ve seen it before, still makes me laugh. After lunch mum drove us to John Lewis in Tunbridge Wells to buy a new induction hob for the kitchen. They only had a ‘show-model’ so after we had checked it was right we paid for one to be delivered next week. We will probably have to buy new saucepans and frying pans as well but dad will do the ‘magnet test’ first to find out if our current ones will be suitable. Mum suggested we had a coffee, but it was such a palaver doing test-and-trace registration before entering the cafe, you wonder whether it’s worth it. We went through with it all and I had a cappuccino and cookies, mum had a coffee, dad had a tea and they shared a packet of crisps. We drove home in pouring rain avoiding flooded drains.
Once back in the dry, I watched ‘Black Books’ for a while and mum and dad started on the Sunday roast - we’re having lamb this weekend, so moussaka later in the week. I helped with preparing the cabbage and carrots.
After tea we watched ‘Countryfile’, ‘Lewis’, ‘Midsomer Murders, the second half of the remake of ‘King Kong’ then the next episode of  ‘US’ which we enjoy.

Monday October 5th

After a grotty start the weather improved and the sun ☀️ came out. Dad and I went to Costa for coffee and sausage (me) and bacon (dad) rolls, a sort of ‘brunch’ at about 11.30. Kevin the Vicar was there with his wife Carolyn and we joked with them as we left. Kevin said he had been looking at dad’s Facebook page, but why did it have a picture of dad’s younger brother on it? This confused me as dad doesn’t have a younger brother! Dad said the photo was taken a few years ago, and Kevin said “yes, about thirty”. “How dare you” dad exclaimed and then said “I will happily accept the invitation to your seventieth birthday party!” This made Carolyn and Kevin laugh. On the way back we bought a cauliflower from Richard as dad was making cauliflower cheese for tea. Back home dad had to help Patrick so I watched another couple of episodes of ‘Mr Bean’. As we started our tea, mum realised that there was no cheese in the sauce - dad is such a wally sometimes! We sprinkled cheese on the top and it tasted fine…
After tea we watched ‘Antiques Road Trip’ then a documentary called ‘My Brother's Balls and Me’ about two brothers who had different forms of testicular cancer. It was unusual but quite interesting.

Tuesday October 6th

The weather is better today. Dad and I went to Costa for brunch again and had the same as yesterday!
Work is progressing well in the en-suite, but lots of decisions to make between Patrick and dad. I watched some more ‘Black Books’.
Dad was planning to make a curry for tea, but mum said she wanted Faggots with cabbage and new potatoes (comfort food!). During tea we watched ‘Money for Nothing’ then afterwards ‘Dogs behaving badly’ ‘The Yorkshire Vet’ and ‘All Creatures Great and Small’. We look forward to Tuesday evenings!

Wednesday October 7th

It’s nice and ☀️ sunny today. Mum and I have to go to the clinic at Bow Arrow Road in Dartford for my annual checkup. We had sat-nav problems with mum’s this time and took a rather long journey and arrived late! Mum was not happy…
The nurse 👩‍⚕️ took my blood pressure, pulse and temperature which were all 👍 ok. After we left, we went to Bluewater for lunch at Bill’sand they were doing a two-for-one menu! We both had the bream and it was nice and spicy!
After lunch we went to the Swatch shop for a new strap for mum’s watch and a battery for mine. We wandered around window shopping before we went home.
In the afternoon, I wanted to go out for a coffee with dad, but there was a crisis in the ensuite as the new toilet pan won’t fit the ‘Saniflo’ because they’ve changed the design. Dad was making frantic phone-calls to plumbers merchants trying to buy a new unit and get it delivered as soon as possible, so mum took me out for coffee instead.
We went to Deli di Luca and sat outside. I had carrot 🎂 cake and a cup ☕️ of tea and mum had a cappuccino. When we got back I watched ‘Sean the Sheep Armagetton’ which was very funny. For tea dad cooked his sweet chicken 🍗 curry which was also nice and spicy - yum!
We watched ‘Antiques Road Trip’ then ‘The One Show’ and ‘The Repair Shop’ then I turned in after a 🛀 bath.

Thursday October 8th

Another bright day today. Dad helped me buy ‘Blackadder II’ on the tv as Netflix have stopped covering it. I’ve seen it before, but still enjoy watching it.
For lunch we had the remaining cottage pie with baked beans - it's always good to clear the fridge of leftovers!
In the afternoon we met Christina for coffee at Costa and dad and I shared a shortbread choc-chip cookie which was yummy! We chatted about this and that and waved at a little baby girl called Isla who giggled a lot.
In the early evening. dad was going for a 🍺 beer with his friends Nick and Stuart, so I helped mum make moussaka for tea with cabbage and peas. Mum and I like mint sauce with ours!
We watched James May’s ‘Car of the People’ then ‘A Touch of Frost’ then ‘The Apprentice Best Bits’

Friday October 9th

Dad had to talk to Patrick first thing so I watched some more ‘Black Adder II’ for a while and did some drawing and writing. But our first visitor of the day was Johnnie who had bought our Covid swabs for the month. We did our tests and handed them back, just as our neighbour Liz arrived to ask if Patrick could drop in on them before he left for the day.
For lunch we had soup and a sandwich and I had roast chicken in mine. Just before dad and I went out for coffee, Sara arrived in the minibus with Georgina and Shirley. She was delivering my meds for the coming month. We stood in the front garden and chatted for a while which was nice.
At Costa dad and I both had a pot of tea and shared a shortbread choc-chip cookie.
We walked back and I watched some ‘Red Dwarf’ as dad had to prepare documents for his evening meeting with Simon the churchyard gardener. For tea we had Chicken 🍗 Kiev with cabbage, potatoes, peas and carrots. We watched ‘A Question of Sport’ then ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ which was very funny 😄 .

Saturday October 10th

We were supposed to be Skyping Sam and Lucy on Sunday as she was booked to record her new album today. She has developed a throat infection so has cancelled her recording session, and we could Skype them today instead. We talked about meeting up with them on the weekend of Sunday 18th to celebrate 🎊 Lucy's birthday, and eventually decided they would come to ours for a roast 🥘 dinner, to stay safe. We said our goodbyes 😊 as it was lunchtime. We’ve got so many 🥚 eggs, mum suggested we have scrambled eggs and beans. It was very 👍 nice. After lunch mum and I went to Sevenoaks to buy Lucy’s 🎁 present. We went to GAP for 👶 baby clothes for Geoff and Hannah’s new arrival, baby Alice. Now they have ‘bookends’ with Barney and Alice - hurrah! 😁.
Mum and I went to Costa for a coffee ☕️ before heading to Sainsbury’s for the weekly shop. When we got home dad helped unload the 🚗 car.
For tea mum and I had salmon as usual and dad had his favourite, steak and chips.
After tea we watched ‘Our Yorkshire Farm’ ‘Midsomer Murders’, ‘Strictly the Finals’ and ‘X-men future past’

Sunday October 11th

I woke up to bright sunshine and a blue sky - it’s going to be a nice day. Dad has asked me to help him tidy up the front garden as its fairly overgrown. He did the pruning and I did the clipping. It was a big job and I got tired after a while, so I made us some ☕️ tea. Dad soldiered on and cleared the borders quite well. We stopped for lunch 🥗 and dad fancied a 🥓 bacon sandwich, so mum and I went to the Co-op. Dad and I had bacon sarnies and mum had bacon and 🥚 eggs. After lunch mum drove us to Coblands garden centre as dad wanted to buy some wallflowers for the cleared borders. When we got back I watched the Pixar film ‘Onward’ which had some sad moments but a happy 😊 ending.
We had roast 🐔 chicken for tea with all the trimmings, and I chopped the carrots and cabbage and dad did the roasties!
We watched ‘Countryfile’ ‘Country Vet’ then the final episode of ‘US’ which had a predictably bitter-sweet ending.

Monday October 12th

A bit of a grubby day today, and its going on to rain 🌧 . Dad had to work with Patrick so we’ll go for coffee ☕️ after lunch 🥗 🍴. I watched a couple of episodes of ‘Fawlty Towers’ which made me laugh 😆. Lunch was 🍜 soup and a sandwich.
When dad and I went out for coffee ☕️ it was ☔️ raining quite hard. We hurried to Costa and had cups of tea and a really scrummy almond slice, then back home 🏠 to the warm and dry. I watched ‘Only Fools and🐴 Horses’ as dad had to go out to record another voice for the Talking Town Heritage Trail. When he got back he made his sweet 🍗 chicken curry with the rest of Sunday's roast.
We watched ‘Money for Nothing’ ‘Antiques Road Trip’, the Blue Cross documentary ‘Inside A & E’ and then the first of the new series of ‘Who do you 🤔 think you are’ which was Jody Whitaker (Dr Who) and was very interesting. We finished with the news, then it was time for my bath and bed!

Tuesday October 13th

In the morning we did the blog, then dad had some work to do so I watched ‘Fawlty Towers’ again. Basil is so funny, 😆 I never get tired of it. For lunch 🍴 🥙 we had the rest of the moussaka with some baked beans. It’s quite a bright day and dad and I met Christina for coffee after lunch. I shared a choc-chip cookie 🍪 with dad, just because we can! Suddenly there was a loud crash and a small child had thrown one of his toys on the floor. I went and picked it up 👋 and asked his mum what his name was. She said his name was Cooper and Christina and I said “like the rock-star”. Dad didn't know who we meant until we said “Alice Cooper” then he understood! On the way back we stopped at the butchers and bought some lamb neck fillet from Steph as dad planned to cook 👨‍🍳 an Irish stew in the pressure cooker.
After tea we all watched ‘The Yorkshire Vet’ then mum and I watched the new BBC1 drama called ‘Life’ and dad watched ‘Escape to the Farm’ featuring ‘Springwatch’s' Kate Humble.
After that it was 🛀 bath and bed for me. 😴 sleep tight...

Wednesday October 14th

Just before Patrick went home last night there was a bit of a panic as water had started dripping through the lounge ceiling. It turned out to be a central heating pipe joint that had failed and was leaking. Patrick quickly took the floor up in the ensuite and found the leaky joint, which thank goodness he could still get to because he had stuck down the shower tray by this ☝️ point! He replaced the dodgy pipework and all is now ok…👍
This morning dad and I did the blog for yesterday so we are up to date. After blogging I did some artwork and watched ‘Fools and Horses 🐴’ until lunchtime. Mum and I had gone up to the shops and bought a jiffy bag for the baby clothes we are sending to Geoff and Hannah for Alice and Barney. We also bought a French stick 🥖 to have with soup 🍵 for lunch. After lunch dad and I went to Deli di Luca for a cup of tea ☕️ and a Rocky Road. The cafe wasn’t too full so felt quite safe. Andrew had a stylish new visor attached to a pair of glasses which he says he can wear all day.
For tea dad cooked corned-beef-hash with Worcester sauce and grain mustard and it was yummy 🤤!
We watched 'Antiques Road Trip' then 'Jimmy’s Farm' which was interesting, then ’24 hours in A&E’ which was edge of the 💺 seat stuff, especially with a guy who had gone paragliding on his own and been blown into a cliff. He did survive but it was touch and go for a while…
I then had my 🛀 bath and went to bed 😴.

Thursday October 15th

After breakfast 🥞 dad and I did Wednesday’s blog. I then watched ‘Fools and Horses 🐴’ while dad did his emails. The workshop in Woodlands Park was cancelled for this week, so no drive to Gravesend. Just before 🥗 lunch the i-Pad rang and it was Longfield ‘alcoving’ us . Several of the guys were there, but Dominic had gone home and Gary is going home 🏡 this weekend and George is going home 🏡 on Monday, so some Covid restrictions have been lifted - 😁 hurrah! I had a good 😊 chat with Rika and Jackie before we signed-off.
For lunch 🥗 we had cheese 🧀 on toast.
In the afternoon dad and I went to Costa but I got weepy for some reason so it wasn’t the best coffee outing!
When we got back, Patrick had finished the tiling in the ensuite and it looks terrific!
For tea we had faggots, so a night-off for the 👨‍🍳 chef. After tea we watched ‘Antiques Road Trip’ then ‘The One Show’, ‘A touch of Frost’ and the News before turning in (not forgetting my bath 🛀 !)

the ensuite shower is tiled and looks very smart...

Friday October 16th

It was a bright but chilly day as dad and I found out when we went up for morning ☕️ coffee and didn’t take our coats! It was nearly lunch-time by then so we went to Costa and had a hot roll, sausage for me and bacon for dad!
On the way back we went to ‘Nisa’ and bought 🍗 chcken, spinach, mange-tout and fresh coriander to make a slow-cooker curry 🍛 for our evening meal.
In the afternoon, I helped dad make the 🍛 curry and watched my old favourite, ‘Fawlty Towers’.
The curry was 😋 delicious and the meat very tender, having been cooked for three and a half hours.
We watched ‘The One Show’, ’A Question of Sport’, ‘A Country Vet’ then ‘Would I lie to you’ and ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’. We always enjoy 😊 Friday night 📺 tv!

Saturday October 17th

I had my bath and hair wash first thing. Shard came round to finish the safety checks on the new wiring he had done in the 🏡 house, before the inspection on Monday.
I watched some 📺 tv before 🥗 lunch, then mum and I went to the supermarket for the weekly shop. When we got back we all unloaded the shopping and mum started on her and my salmon for tea.
Dad cooked his steak when we were eating ours. After tea we watched a double episode of ‘Our Yorkshire Farm’ then the first performance of this year’s ‘Strictly’. After that we watched ‘Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation’ which took us to bedtime - night, night 😴 💤 .

Sunday October 18th

It was a grey but dry day today. Sam and Lucy came over for ☀️ Sunday lunch to celebrate 🎊 🎉 Lucy’s birthday, and we had roast lamb followed by strawberries 🍓 and yogurt 🍦, then a ‘Mary Berry raspberry ripple’ 🎂 cake which was yummy. 😋 It was good 😊 to catch-up with them. They are getting a new kitchen fitted so we chatted about that and they showed us the plans, which looked good. 😊 .
After they had gone mum and I sat down to watch ‘Frozen II’ which I liked, but the music always makes me cry 😭. Dad is not a fan, so he watched ‘Antiques Road Show’ in the other room.
For tea we just had cheese on toast, having had a big roast lunch!
We watched the first episode of David Hare’s new drama ‘Roadkill’ starring Hugh Laurie as Conservative Cabinet Minister Peter Laurence who will stop at nothing in his ambition to get to the top. I quite enjoyed it . We then watched the news and went to bed. Night Night.

Monday October 19th

Another grey dry day today. Dad and I met Christina for coffee ☕️ at Costa. We had our usual 🥓 bacon and sausage rolls and had a nice chat. Just before we left, Katy arrived with Jayden, but we couldn’t stay because it was only a four-seat table. So we said “hi and 👋 ‘bye” and left.
On the way back we went to the Co-op to buy apples 🍎 and stuff for tea. In the afternoon dad and I made choc-chip apple brownie 🍰 cake, but dad got the recipe wrong with the amount of flour needed and when we took it out of the oven it was cooked on the top but raw inside! Dad did some quick web research and found lots of people saying "put kitchen foil over it and put it back in the oven", which he did. It took another 20 minutes but seemed properly 👨‍🍳 cooked through after that. We left it to cool down and will try it tomorrow.
For tea dad 👨‍🍳 cooked chicken and asparagus in a white wine sauce with a crusty potato 🥔 top which was very nice 👍 .
After tea we watched ‘Money 💰 For Nothing’ then Victoria Coren-Mitchell’s ‘Only Connect’ followed by ‘Ghosts’ 👻 and ‘Who do you think 🤔 you are’ featuring David Walliams which was quite interesting. I then had my 🛀 bath and went to bed, but dad stayed up to watch Guy Martin in ‘The last flight of the Vulcan’ which he thought was great. 👍

though I say it myself it's pretty tasty! 😋 well done to the A-team!

though I say it myself it's pretty tasty! 😋 well done to the A-team!

Tuesday October 20th

We ⭐️ted the day with Monday’s blog. It’s hard to think we’ve been doing this for seven months now!
I watched some 📺 tv and had a slice of our choc-chip apple brownie 🍰 cake with a cup ☕️ of tea while I watched Red Dwarf. Dad had some plumbing decisions to make with Patrick and the 🚽 toilet has to go back as the cistern doesn't fit onto the pan properly as it was badly built.
I was hungry 😋 so had my lunch early, I had a sandwich and a packet of crisps.
In the afternoon dad and I went out for coffee ☕️ and it had cheered up and was quite warm so we sat outside Deli di Luca for a change. I had an iced mocha, dad had a mug of tea and we shared a Rocky Road which Natasha had cut into four for us!
For tea we had chicken Kiev, cabbage and potatoes 🥔, so it was a night off for the 👨‍🍳!
We watched ‘Dog 🐩 School’ and ‘The Yorkshire Vet’ then dad and I watched Kate Humble’s ‘Escape to the Farm’ while mum watched ‘Life’. After that I had a bath 🛀 and went to bed 😴.
